The holidays are approaching and deadlines need to be completed. You need to get organized in order to finish everything on time. That way, you don’t run into any issues during the new year. First, you should start with planning, prioritizing, making a calendar, and don’t overstretch yourself.

Let’s look below for more details…

1 Plan early and make a to-do-list: The Christmas rush happens and everyone is literally in a rush or frenzy! You don’t need to be part of this yearly cycle. Planning early and knowing what you need to do ahead of time gives you the power to command when and how much time you can allot for each task. Instead of cramming through all of them. Now, if it’s too late to plan early, then at least plan. Write down your deliverables, break them down into smaller tasks, and take note of the details and deadlines.

2 Prioritize tasks and schedule everything: What do you need to accomplish today? What needs to be submitted tomorrow, or within two weeks? What clients are having their vacation early and therefore need output delivered quickly? Setting priorities and plotting a schedule will allow you to organize your workflow, and utilize your time efficiently. Who knows, you just might have enough time for a nap after a long day of hard day of work!

3 Make a holiday calendar and share it with colleagues: If you’re going to be a busy bee going from one meeting to another, then to a family vaca, you better make a calendar that will help you keep track of all your activities (with color codes, of course.) Plus, it informs colleagues when you’ll be reporting for work, and when you’ll be taking time off. Just think Google calendar!

4 Don’t over schedule, but keep goals realistic: The goal is for you to finish and deliver the desirable work. It’s always better to set goals and timelines that are within your capacity. If you put too much on your plate, chances are you won’t be able to finish or it will be of poor quality. Remember that work hours may extend, but workdays do not. It’s okay to be ambitious but remains realistic.
